The Think.Eat.Save. Reduce Your Foodprint campaign is in support of the SAVE FOOD Initiative to reduce food loss and waste along the entire chain of food production and consumption - run by the FAO and trade fair organizer Messe Düsseldorf - and the UN Secretary General's Zero Hunger Challenge. The campaign specifically targets food wasted by consumers, retailers and the hospitality industry.

We depend on healthy ecosystems for food and energy security and water supplies. Their continued degradation contributes to climate change and enhances the risk of an ecological collapse. The loss would be catastrophic for our planet and a huge setback in achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. It’s time to rebuild what has been lost.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will host the 2024 World Environment Day global celebrations, with the theme focusing on land restoration, desertification, and drought resilience.

The 45th celebration of World Environment Day was under the theme "Beat Plastic Pollution."

The theme was air pollution, a global emergency that causes around 7 million premature deaths every year. 

The focus was Ecosystem Restoration celebrated under the theme “Reimagine. Recreate. Restore.”
